Lowe’s Creative Ideas

From 2005 to 2010, I was editor and projects manager for the bimonthly magazine Lowe’s Creative Ideas produced by a special custom publishing arm of Southern Living and Time Inc., as well as the quarterly Lowe’s Creative Ideas for Outdoor Living. This highly successful content marketing program gave loyal Lowe’s customers tons of ideas for projects large and small — from kitchen remodels to tabletop DIYs — all with highly detailed and researched shopping lists so readers could get the look using the exact same products from Lowe’s. In addition to increased sales, Lowe’s saw the magazine as a valuable customer retention tool. As lead editor, I worked very closely with the client and shepherded the magazine process from sketches with our project designers to story assignments with staff and freelance writers to layout with our graphic design staff and print production.
