In my book Vegetable Gardening Wisdom, I included many inspiring quotations about gardening and cooking from modern and contemporary writers of various disciplines who all share a love of nature and passion for growing food. I took the process of choosing these quotations very seriously — I read or re-read many, many books cover to cover just to find one exactly-right quote within them — and I relished in the opportunity to immerse myself in the writing of some of my favorite authors who’ve had a profound influence on me and my way of thinking. Below is a list of the sources of these quotations, roughly in the order they appear in the book (though some authors who appear twice in the book are only listed here once). I’ve also included links to these titles on Amazon, where you can learn more and choose whether to add them to your own library, where via Amazon, your local used bookstore, or elsewhere.
